Overview> Our intent is to explore a new permutation of a common design object which extends the senses by mapping a new sense onto an existing one. In this case, a garment, the rfcoat, serves as a means for transposing the intensity of the RF spectrum at a user’s location into a tactile and visceral skin response, providing the wearer with a unique perceptual insight into the wireless datastreams that pervade modern urban environments. While wearing the coat, one should be able to literally feel the changing Hertzian space around them.
